When you organise a Festival or event, make sure that you liaise with other attraction operators and local businesses to get their support.

Attraction operators organise many events and have wide experience within this area.

If local attraction operators are running a similar event, it may be possible to link into it in some way.

Work with other stakeholders to target wider audiences and reduce costs.

It is a good idea to liaise with your Regional Tourism Partnership, the Welsh Association of Visitor Attractions (WAVA), the Arts Council for Wales (ACW) and the Visit Wales (VW). This will help you to avoid clashes with major public events and make sure that festival/event listings are updated.

Avoid potential problems (noise, visitors overrunning 'their' locality) by liaising with local residents, particularly in an urban environment.

Key Points:

  • Work together and coordinate with all groups to share information and, where possible, costs
  • Remember that people like to be kept informed
