Sections one and two of the TIMELINE Chart noted that various types of permissions were needed for the event and explained how these should be made.
By now you should have:
- Contacted the appropriate officer at the relevant authority
- Linked the permission process into the TIMELINE Must Tell checklist 1.9 (PDF) (Word Doc.)
Make sure that the team member(s) with responsibility for organising permissions give regular feedback to the festival/events organiser and the organising committee.
If delays occur which could the date of the event or have a major impact on it, contact all members of the organising team and agree remedial action.
Keep in regular contact with the authority which will grant permission. It may take some time to receive written permissions, but some authorities will give verbal permission once the application has been approved.
Key Points:
- Keep in regular contact with the relevant authority
- Update the committee about potential problems and chase up progress
- Keep TIMELINE Checklist 1.9 Must Tell up to date
