By now, the marketing and PR plans should be fully launched and you should start to evaluate progress.

Look at the marketing/PR plans and adjust/amend if necessary.

Check the following information:

  • Is the date in all events lists/news diaries?
  • Check responses to press releases/PR
  • Follow up all contacts made
  • Have all the marketing actions been launched - what response to date?
  • Quantify advance ticket sales/enquiries

If response is not up to target and if budgets allow, allocate further resources.

If sponsors have been found, make sure they are kept in touch with event news and that their requirements are being met.

Key Points:

  • Evaluation of all plans is an ongoing process
  • Always be prepared to adapt plans for valid reasons
